Golf trolleys – pull trolleys – golfing in the Midlands

Golf trolleys pull trolleys golfing in the Midlands

The Midlands have some spectacular golf courses for you to pull your trolleys around.

Shifnal, Shropshire

Lying in the picturesque county of Shropshire , the golf club is on the outskirts of Shifnal, a lovely village between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton . Measuring 6468 yards, the course offers the golfer some really challenging holes which, at first, may look easy but soon earn the player's respect. The second half of the course is a test of stamina when the Decker Hill comes into play, holes 14 and 16 are both played on uphill slopes so be warned that you will be pulling your golf trolley behind you! Several of the par 4's here have dog-leg fairways and a good tee shot is essential for a chance to get par, in particular at 12, 16 and 18.

Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire

Founded in 1890 and considered one of the top undiscovered golfing beauties in the surrounding area, Chipping Norton is the perfect course for travelling holiday golfers who are looking for something a bit different. Chipping Norton is a pleasant downland course that's open to winds. If you happen to be playing into the wind, some of the long par fours can be quite daunting and will test your long iron play to the limits. Set high in the Cotswolds, you can enjoy some spectacular scenery as you pull your golf trolley around the course.

Pershore, Worcestershire

Complete golfing facilities set in gently undulating countryside in a natural amphitheatre overlooking the Malvern and Bredon Hills, the 18-hole International Course and the 9-hole Lenches Course provide all the variety a golfer needs. The course is relatively new but is maturing well and already features perfectly conditioned fairways and soft, luscious greens for you to pull your golf trolleys around. It is quite long and therefore provides a real test to big hitters who think they can rough up any course. The 18th is a superb finishing hole with water lurking on the left of the green. To succeed, here, you'll need the right club and well executed shot in order to avoid a watery grave.

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

Sherwood Forest is perhaps more famous as the home of the legendary outlaw Robin Hood and his nemesis the Sherriff of Nottingham, but in recent years it has built up a fine reputation as the home of a splendid golf club. Sherwood Forest Golf Club was founded in 1895 and has the distinction of having had two of history's finest golf course architects work on it, making it a superb location for you to pull your golf trolleys around. Originally, Harry Colt laid out the designs of it, before the five time Open champion James Braid lent his Midas touch to it to make a few alterations to Colt's design. It is a traditional heathland course with an abundance of heather pines and silver birch.
